    ABOUT THE POSITION: The Feighan Team is now accepting applications for a Policy Associate based in Washington, D.C, working directly with the Founding Partner and Director of Policy & Advocacy to advance the interests of clients. The position is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter eager to demonstrate their talent and skills in helping a small lobbying firm with a purpose that is poised for expansion. While this is a junior-level position, we seek mature applicants who are committed to promoting public policies that empower people and communities, and who appreciate that their professional growth can parallel the firm's success. We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful individual who is interested in growing with us and advancing the important work being done by our clients.

     

    (70%) Organizational & Administrative Support

    · Schedule client meetings, conference calls, webinars, and events

    · Record and disseminate meeting notes

    · Maintain effective document management systems (internal and client-facing)

    · Organize and manage contact lists via Constant Contact

    · Assist with conference planning and preparation

    · Maintain TFT and client websites (provide stylistic updates, post new content, etc.)

    · Regularly develop and post content on social media

     

    (30%) Policy & Government Affairs Support

    · Track federal and state legislative and regulatory developments

    · Monitor hearings, markups, and other legislative actions of interest to clients

    · Develop fact sheets, presentations, legislative updates, Congressional rosters, and other resources

    · Assist with client meetings on the Hill or with federal agencies as needed

    · Serve as primary project manager for client campaigns; coordinate and ensure timely completion of projects

     

    Qualifications:

    · Commitment to the work of the Feighan Team and success of its client organizations

    · Proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred

    · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential

    · Natural self-starter who effectively balances taking initiative with seeking guidance

    · Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, in writing and verbally, with varying audiences

    · An inquisitive mind and strong desire to learn

    · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    · Interest in a long-term career in policy and/or advocacy work

    · Strong proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft programs

    · Experience with Twitter and other social media platforms

    · Experience with website management software a plus but not required

     

    This is a full-time position with a minimum one-year commitment. A writing test will be administered as part of the hiring process.
