The Natural Capital Investment Fund (NCIFund), an affiliate of The Conservation Fund, is seeking an accountant to provide crucial support necessary to the Finance area. This position reports to the Director of Finance and is located in Charles Town, WV.
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
- Budget
- Assist with completion of annual budget
- Track expenditures on a project by project basis to ensure compliance to grants
- Track overhead rate and related expenses
- General Ledger
- Maintain records to support GAAP treatment of loan origination expense and debt acquisition costs
- Review accounts payable transactions to ensure consistency in GL postings
- Record, monitor and balance grants, pledges and accounts receivables
- Maintain notes payables with the TEA investment module
- Grants, Federal Funds and Compliance
- Review budgets for accuracy and grant compliance
- Review monthly general ledger charges for regulatory and budget compliance
- Track reporting requirements for grants to ensure deadlines are met
- Invoice state and federal funders for reimbursable expenditures
- Track federal expenditures in accordance with Uniform Guidance
- Treasury
- Review bi-monthly ACH payments
- Process wire transactions
- Additional Duties
- Manage data base related to compliance and underwriting reporting
- Assist with management of loan capital
- Manage quarterly Aeris data upload
- Perform other accounting, financial and administrative task that may be required
The qualified candidate will have:
- BBA/BS degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Strong computer and software skills including Microsoft Office products, Outlook, TEA and Quickbooks.
- The ability to prioritize and multitask work is essential.
- Must be able to work with all levels of staff, in a team environment as well as independently is required
- Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills needed
- CPA and Sageworks experience a plus
- Experience and/or interest in non-profit business models and processes helpful
