The Vermont Community Loan Fund, a nonprofit CDFI revolving loan fund, is recruiting an experienced lending professional to help us meet our goal of providing economic opportunities to low- and moderate-income Vermonters. This full-time supervisory position is a key member of senior management and is involved in both strategic and tactical decision-making.
The Director of Business Lending will work directly with individuals and organizations seeking VCLF funding. VCLF finances a wide variety of businesses, including early care & learning programs and working lands enterprises. The primary job responsibilities include:
- Analyzing and underwriting commercial business loans,
- Managing our business loan portfolio including loan collections,
- Working with other lenders and funders to structure projects using VCLF's many funding programs, and
- Representing the organization in public.
This role supervises VCLF's Business Programs staff, including the Business Resource Manager and Loan Officer.
Strong written and verbal skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and an excellent customer service attitude are required. The successful candidate will have at least five years' experience in credit analysis, commercial lending and/or small business development, as well as experience in loan portfolio management and loan collections. A Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field is required. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and ability.
