Gretchen has more than 12 years of experience in strategy, management and communications related to economic development and shared value initiatives across government, non-profit and private sectors. As the current Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Accion U.S. Network, Gretchen manages philanthropic partnerships and programs with companies in a range of sectors that support Accion's lending and financial education activities to help small businesses grow. She works with partners to co-create, implement, and evaluate programs that include business coaching, financial education, mentoring, events, and other activities to increase access to capital.
Previously, Gretchen served as Acting Deputy Director in the Office of Latin America at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where her work included Washington stakeholder engagement, partnership development, strategy and advising leadership on development issues in Latin America. She has worked in communications, strategy, and partnerships with several organizations in the U.S. and Latin America including the Rainforest Alliance, the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute, the World Resources Institute, Grassroots Business Fund, and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico. She holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University and an MPA from Cornell University. She is also a former Presidential Management Fellow and a former contributor to the New York Times.
