    Position: Loan Officer

    Reports to: Director of Lending

    Salary: $70,000 DOE. Adjust salary for a seasoned Loan Office

    Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, generous holidays.

    Location: California's Central Coast/Central Valley.

    Position Type: Full-time, Exempt

    Start Date: March 2024

    Feed The Hunger Fund is hiring a Loan Officer. FTHF is a fast-growing nonprofit, certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that aims to drive systemic change across the food system. We are dedicated to addressing food security and poverty by providing loan funding and business technical assistance to farmers and food entrepreneurs, primarily those who are BIPOC, women, and immigrants. In addition to food businesses, FTHF supports other small businesses in its communities.

    The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver who can drive long distances to meet clients and has established relations in the Central Coast/Valley, preferably with a portfolio of potential loan candidates…

    Position Overview: Loan Officer will be responsible for:

    Generating a rapid and strong pipeline of prospective borrowers.

    Maintaining an active presence in the communities served by FTHF.

    Providing technical assistance to loan applicants.

    Coordinating workload and reports with California Loan Officers.

    Collecting required loan documentation to underwrite loans.

    Engaging in public speaking events and participating in networking events.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience at a community development lending institution such as a CDFI, Credit Union, USDA, FSA, etc.

    Background in financial literacy education and credit building experience geared towards underserved communities.

    Experience in grant writing and implementation.

    Work experience assisting small businesses with microfinance and business management.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clarity, conciseness, and relevance.

    Strong presentation skills.

    Demonstrates sound judgment and effective decision-making skills.

    Self-starter with ability to work independently.

    Ability to travel locally and distantly.

    Preferences:

    Bilingual - Southeast Asian, Spanish preferred.

    Knowledge of small business management and operations.

    Passionate about advocating for marginalized communities in underserved areas.

    Effective communicator with cultural competency to connect with a diverse audience.
