    FLSA Status: Full time, exempt

    Location: Combination of remote and St. Paul office 

    Salary Starting At: $75,000 – 85,000/year

    Position Summary

    The Senior Manager of Donor Relations supports WomenVenture's mission by identifying and communicating with key audiences and working with donors to foster their commitment to action. This person is a member of the Advancement Team, which is responsible for fundraising, grant-writing, community-building, the volunteer program, communications, marketing, and events. This role is a frontline fundraising position responsible for managing, creating and implementing strategies with donors who have a history of or capacity to make annual gifts at all levels.

    Core Duties & Responsibilities:

    Fundraising

    • In collaboration with the Chief Advancement and Marketing Officer (CAMO), provide vision and leadership for all aspects of WomenVenture's individual giving program which includes a comprehensive strategy targeting long and short-term giving goals
    • Develop an annual giving strategy and project plan that includes proposed annual budget recommendations, monitoring and reporting plans and key benchmarks and dates
    • Plan, implement and manage a comprehensive direct mail program and online giving strategy that includes a calendar outlining the proposed campaign activity, expected return on investment and reporting expectations
    • Establish and maintain a highly engaging individual donor cultivation and gift stewardship program to identify and increase new donors and to increase giving levels of existing donors
    • Prepare complete prospective donor research and briefing materials for donor calls and visits and manage all correspondence and reporting to prospects and donors for CAMO and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
    • Prepare materials for individual donor visits for the CAMO and CEO
    • In consultation with Operations, identify effective segmentation and establish processes to improve data integrity and to track and analyze fundraising results
    • Manage the information related to fundraising strategies and activities, as well as other appropriate information related to individual donors/prospects that are entered into the CRM database
    • Through research and best practices, identify, cultivate and solicit individuals for general operating support, event sponsorship, volunteer programs, and/or publicity
    • Develop strategies for incorporating planned giving opportunities into the individual giving program
    • Maintain regular contact with internal and external constituencies, including Advancement and Marketing, Operations, Finance, members of executive management, donors, etc.
    • Lead research efforts related to industry trends and apply findings to established plans and strategies
    • In consultation and collaboration with the Volunteer Specialist and Training team develop a plan for cultivating volunteers and clients as individual donors

    Marketing/Communications

    • Work with the marketing/communications team to develop a communications plan for donors, which may include regular newsletters, client stories, events, thank you videos, etc.
    • Develop the appropriate print materials (brochures, promotional materials, appeals and online content) in collaboration with the communications team to support every aspect of the individual giving plan

    Events

    • Plan and implement special events to engage and recognize individual donors
    • Work with the CAMO to identify and contact individuals to buy tables and sponsorships for Women Mean Business, our signature annual branding event
    • Increase donor engagement and cultivation by managing an array of events throughout the year, such as in-home events targeted at building a community of high net-worth individuals

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods and may be required to stand for an extended period.     Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the liberal arts OR other related fields
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience with donor identification, project-management, relationship-building, and fundraising experience, particularly with non-profit/community-based organizations
    • Demonstrated success in effective fundraising strategies
    • Experience in the Development profession preferred
    • Documented success in personally implementing sophisticated, multi-year cultivation strategies that use a relationship-building and moves management approach leading to successful gift closure
    • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective individual donors and interact via telephone and in-person
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a talent for building strong and productive relationships across constituencies
    • Demonstrated success in organizing work, meeting strict deadlines, and setting priorities
    • Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and exceed work goals
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with individuals and large groups
    • Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a high project-volume environment
    • Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential donor information
    • Ability to travel when necessary to engage and solicit prospects
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Intermediate proficiency in Office 365 including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
    • Demonstrated experience with customer relationship management systems, such as Microsoft CRM
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
    • Tactful, flexible, diplomatic and trustworthy with a positive attitude
