My personal background includes being the first female partner to be hired by EY Management Consulting. (At the time, the other 6% of female partners had been promoted from within.) I quickly discovered the only African American partner in the Baltimore Washington area and joined forces with him. We did a lot of good work together. I now own a retained executive search firm specializing in recruiting for mission driven non profits e.g. Community Development and Community Health organizations. In the last 24 months I've recruited ten CXOs for these non profits, eight of them for CDFIs. Of these eight, seven were African American (and one Hispanic) and six of them female.
