Mark Scarano is Executive Director of the Community Business Partnership.
Before the Partnership, Mark was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate in 2015 as Federal Co-Chair of the Northern Border Regional Commission and was formally appointed to the post thereafter by President Obama. As Federal Co-Chair, he relaunched the agency into a strong Federal-State partnership for economic and infrastructure development in the northeast.
Mark started his 24-year economic development career leading economic development organizations on the municipal and county levels in Maine and New Hampshire. During that time, he led successful efforts to attract job creating corporations as well as develop wealth generating workforce, incubation, entrepreneurship, financing, and community initiatives.
Mark has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine and a Master’s degree from Iowa State University.
He received the SBA’s NH Business Champion of the Year award in 2014 and is a frequent speaker on economic and community development issues. Mark lives in Arlington with his partner and their young son.
